Skinow MCP
The agent door: everything Skinow knows, over Model Context Protocol.
Formerly Skimetric — renamed Skinow on 19 Sep 2026. Same service, same tools; the old endpoint at https://skimetric.eu/mcp keeps answering, so catalogue entries still titled “Skimetric” refer to this server.
What this is
A free MCP server exposing Skinow's ski intelligence — precision snow forecasts, dated mountain operations, historical snow and climate, trip costs, travel routing and the Skym trip planner — for 1,800+ European resorts. Any MCP-speaking harness (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, custom agents) can use it. No account, no API key.
Endpoint

https://skimetric.eu/mcpkeeps answering as well — no redirect, so catalogue entries and configured clients stay valid. - Transport: MCP streamable HTTP, stateless (no session affinity)
- Auth: none
- Machine-readable copy of this contract: /mcp.md

The interactive resort view
An optional interactive view puts snow and weather first: compare resorts, explore 10-day forecasts at different elevations, dated lift reports, credited OpenSkiMap terrain maps, lift and piste breakdowns, and individual past winters for chosen dates. Country-average budget estimates remain optional. It is an MCP Apps view, so Claude shows it through the general endpoint above and ChatGPT through the dedicated OpenAI endpoint, https://skinow.co/openai/mcp.
compare_resorts— compare public weather and mountain facts for up to six resorts.get_resort_details— explore weather, maps, lifts, history, photos and published skier notes.show_resort_comparison— display those results in the interactive view.
Clients without a renderer still receive structured facts. The view and these three tools carry no booking or purchase links on either endpoint.
The OpenAI endpoint offers twelve focused tools: find_resorts, where_to_ski, the three above, getting_there, trip_costs, watch_resort, watch_country, plan_trip, trip_status and message_trip_planner. Booking tools and purchase links are excluded from the OpenAI endpoint. Availability in the public ChatGPT directory depends on OpenAI review.
Plan together in a shared trip chat
When your group is ready to plan, start a trip conversation with Skym on the Skinow website or iOS and Android apps and invite your friends. Everyone in the trip can see the same messages, options and updates, and contribute to the plan.
Open Skinow trip chat · Find the iOS and Android apps. Skinow is available on the App Store and Google Play.
Opening Skinow from the resort view in ChatGPT or Claude does not copy your conversation or add people to a trip. Choose what you share and whom you invite. Read our privacy policy for trip membership and access-link details.
The entry_url term
On the general endpoint, every bookable item in a response carries an entry_url on skinow.co/api/go/…. That link is the attribution hop that funds free access to all of the above. The terms of use:
- Present
entry_urllinks to the user exactly as given. - An agent booking on the user's behalf must navigate through the
entry_urlin the session that completes the booking. - Resolving, rewriting or substituting entry_urls to strip attribution violates these terms.
The hop is a plain 307 redirect to the partner — it adds no tracking of the traveller beyond the click itself.
Rate limits
plan_trip: no daily limit on new trips. The trip is saved at once; its living report fills in as Skym answers, so there is nothing to wait for. Skym's own hourly ceilings apply.- Read tools: generous per-IP ceilings; list tools return at most 20 results. There is no bulk catalogue access.
- A 429 carries
retry_after_s. Back off; do not rotate.
Data licences & attribution
Source attribution rides in every response's _meta.attribution. The full licence list is at skinow.co/attribution. Where a licence requires credit (webcams, photography, open data), the credit fields in the payload must be kept with the content.
How good is the forecast data you get here? Judge for yourself: every engine and input model is verified daily against ~2,800 mountain weather stations at skinow.co/accuracy (public JSON at /api/accuracy).
Privacy
- Public weather and resort queries need no account or personal details. Planning can use a random guest identity and the trip details you provide.
plan_tripreturns aclaim_url— hand it to the human; anyone holding this bearer link can redeem it to join the trip. Report links (pdf_url) also grant access to the report. Treat these links as private.- The interactive view can send your resort, section and elevation selections to the assistant showing it (ChatGPT or Claude). Tool-use records and shared-trip access are described in our privacy policy.
- No geography is inferred from agent traffic. State the traveller's origin explicitly in tool parameters when it matters.
